Daniel A. Lang, Rimonim

My family and I made Aliyah 9 years ago. We live in a yishuv called Rimonim in Mateh Binyamin. We are about 15 - 20 minutes due east from Jerusalem. Fortunately, the closest Arab village is about 8 kilometers from us. Rimonim overlooks Jericho. On most days and nights, we can see Aman, Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adumim. A mountain ridge separates us from Bet El and Ofra. Throughtout most of the intifada, our lives have been very quiet. Rimonim is a small yishuv of about 110 families - 600 people. All homes are single units. We have a 5 bedrrom home on 1/5 of an acre. This is quite large for ISrael. The religious makeup of Rimonim is primarily reform and conservative, at least according to US standards. We have a nursery and kindergarden. For grade school and high school, children are bussed to Jerusalem in bullet proof busses. We have a swimming pool, basketball court, mikve and temple. I suggest that you view our website: www.geocities.com/yishuv_rimonimim.
